Everyone has their own opinion...
I think my favorite of the two poems is Rudyard Kipling's poem "If". I think it is my favorite because i think that when you become a worthy person you EARN the privilege of being called a "man". It's just my personal veiw point that you cant be born a man (or woman) you have to earn it. When the author says that it really hits some deep feelings in me. I think that Rudyard Kipling's view point is generally the same as mine so that's probably why I love this poem so much!

I agree with Rudyard Kipling's message because to me he's saying that if you don't let the world get to you and stay yourself through it all, you'll do great in life and be a "man". I think this is a very good poem because it's very inspirational and meaningful to me. "Walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch" is my favorite quote from the poem. it means that when you walk with the greats you can still stay grounded and not treat people like they are lesser than you when they are not. I think this could serve very good for people today, but i really dont think they will listen or do any of the things in the poem, but it is worth a try. It would be nice to see a more polite world, and i think this poem could help in some people.

Assignment.#1
Cristy being able to write changes his life a lot because he can now communicate with his mom and family with ease. Cristy being able to read and write changes his family's life as well as his because now it will be easier to take care of him if they know what he needs. It also takes a big load off Cristy's mothers mind to know that her sons mind is properly functioning. Cristy is probably very happy to be able to tell his mom and the lest of his family that he loves them and thanks for never giving up on him. I think it is amazing that Cristy could learn to read and write even though everyone except his family thought that he would just be a vegetable the rest of his life.
